അങ്ങനെ അവനെ (സഹോദരനെ) പ്പറ്റി അവര് നിരാശരായി കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള് അവര് തനിച്ച് മാറിയിരുന്ന് കൂടിയാലോചന നടത്തി. അവരില് വലിയ ആള് പറഞ്ഞു: നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവ് അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ പേരില് നിങ്ങളോട് ഉറപ്പ് വാങ്ങിയിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും, യൂസുഫിന്റെ കാര്യത്തില് മുമ്പ് നിങ്ങള് വീഴ്ചവരുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും നിങ്ങള്ക്കറിഞ്ഞ് കൂടെ? അതിനാല് എന്റെ പിതാവ് എനിക്ക് അനുവാദം തരികയോ, അല്ലാഹു എനിക്ക് വിധി തരികയോ ചെയ്യുന്നത് വരെ ഞാന് ഈ ഭൂപ്രദേശം വിട്ടുപോരുകയേ ഇല്ല. വിധികര്ത്താക്കളില് ഏറ്റവും ഉത്തമനത്രെ അവന്.(80)
(80) فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْأَسُوا مِنْهُ خَلَصُوا نَجِيًّا ۖ قَالَ كَبِيرُهُمْ أَلَمْ تَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ أَبَاكُمْ قَدْ أَخَذَ عَلَيْكُمْ مَوْثِقًا مِنَ اللَّهِ وَمِنْ قَبْلُ مَا فَرَّطْتُمْ فِي يُوسُفَ ۖ فَلَنْ أَبْرَحَ الْأَرْضَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْذَنَ لِي أَبِي أَوْ يَحْكُمَ اللَّهُ لِي ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الْحَاكِمِينَ
So, when they despaired of him, they held a conference in private. The eldest among them said: "Know you not that your father did take an oath from you in Allah's Name, and before this you did fail in your duty with Yusuf (Joseph)? Therefore I will not leave this land until my father permits me, or Allah decides my case (by releasing Benjamin) and He is the Best of the judges.(80)
