എന്നാല് മനുഷ്യന് വല്ല ദോഷവും ബാധിച്ചാല് നമ്മോടവന് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുന്നു. പിന്നീട് നാം അവന്ന് നമ്മുടെ പക്കല് നിന്നുള്ള വല്ല അനുഗ്രഹവും പ്രദാനം ചെയ്താല് അവന് പറയും; അറിവിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില് തന്നെ യാണ് തനിക്ക് അത് നല്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ളത് എന്ന്. പക്ഷെ, അത് ഒരു പരീക്ഷണമാകുന്നു. എന്നാല് അവരില് അധികപേരും അത് മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നില്ല.(49)
(49) فَإِذَا مَسَّ الْإِنْسَانَ ضُرٌّ دَعَانَا ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلْنَاهُ نِعْمَةً مِنَّا قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ ۚ بَلْ هِيَ فِتْنَةٌ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
When harm touches man, he calls to Us (for help), then when We have (rescued him from that harm and) changed it into a favour from Us, he says: "Only because of knowledge (that I possess) I obtained it." Nay, it is only a trial, but most of them know not!(49)
