അവന് (അല്ലാഹു) പറഞ്ഞു: ഇബ്ലീസേ, എന്റെ കൈകൊണ്ട് ഞാന് സൃഷ്ടിച്ചുണ്ടാക്കിയതിനെ നീ പ്രണമിക്കുന്നതിന് നിനക്കെന്ത് തടസ്സമാണുണ്ടായത്? നീ അഹങ്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണോ, അതല്ല നീ പൊങ്ങച്ചക്കാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് പെട്ടിരിക്കുകയാണോ?(75)
(75) قَالَ يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ ۖ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الْعَالِينَ
(Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with Both My Hands. Are you too proud (to fall prostrate to Adam) or are you one of the high exalted?"(75)
