അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു: ഇവ വിലക്കപ്പെട്ട കാലികളും കൃഷിയുമാകുന്നു. ഞങ്ങള്‍ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്ന ചിലരല്ലാതെ അവ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു കൂടാ. അതവരുടെ ജല്‍പനമത്രെ. പുറത്ത്‌ സവാരിചെയ്യുന്നത്‌ നിഷിദ്ധമാക്കപ്പെട്ട ചില കാലികളുമുണ്ട്‌. വേറെ ചില കാലികളുമുണ്ട്‌; അവയുടെ മേല്‍ അവര്‍ അല്ലാഹുവിന്‍റെ നാമം ഉച്ചരിക്കുകയില്ല. ഇതെല്ലാം അവന്‍റെ (അല്ലാഹുവിന്‍റെ) പേരില്‍ കെട്ടിച്ചമച്ചുണ്ടാക്കിയതാണ്‌. അവര്‍ കെട്ടിച്ചമച്ച്‌ കൊണ്ടിരുന്നതിന്‌ തക്ക ഫലം അവന്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക്‌ നല്‍കിക്കൊള്ളും.(138)
(138) وَقَالُوا هَٰذِهِ أَنْعَامٌ وَحَرْثٌ حِجْرٌ لَا يَطْعَمُهَا إِلَّا مَنْ نَشَاءُ بِزَعْمِهِمْ وَأَنْعَامٌ حُرِّمَتْ ظُهُورُهَا وَأَنْعَامٌ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا افْتِرَاءً عَلَيْهِ ۚ سَيَجْزِيهِمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ
And according to their pretending, they say that such and such cattle and crops are forbidden, and none should eat of them except those whom we allow. And (they say) there are cattle forbidden to be used for burden or any other work, and cattle on which (at slaughtering) the Name of Allah is not pronounced; lying against Him (Allah). He will recompense them for what they used to fabricate.(138)
