അങ്ങനെ അവര്ക്ക് നമ്മുടെ ശിക്ഷ വന്നെത്തിയപ്പോള് അവരെന്താണ് താഴ്മയുള്ളവരാകാതിരുന്നത് ? എന്നാല് അവരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങള് കടുത്തുപോകുകയാണുണ്ടായത്. അവര് ചെയ്ത് കൊണ്ടിരുന്നത് പിശാച് അവര്ക്ക് ഭംഗിയായി തോന്നിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.(43)
(43) فَلَوْلَا إِذْ جَاءَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا تَضَرَّعُوا وَلَٰكِنْ قَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
When Our Torment reached them, why then did they not believe with humility? But their hearts became hardened, and Shaitan (Satan) made fair-seeming to them that which they used to do.(43)
