അവരോട് കരാര് വാങ്ങുവാന് വേണ്ടി നാം അവര്ക്ക് മീതെ പര്വ്വതത്തെ ഉയര്ത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു. നിങ്ങള് (പട്ടണ) വാതില് കടക്കുന്നത് തലകുനിച്ച് കൊണ്ടാകണം എന്ന് നാം അവരോട് പറയുകയും ചെയ്തു. നിങ്ങള് ശബ്ബത്ത് നാളില് അതിക്രമം കാണിക്കരുത് എന്നും നാം അവരോട് പറഞ്ഞു. ഉറപ്പേറിയ ഒരു കരാര് നാമവരോട് വാങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്തു.(154)
(154) وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَهُمُ الطُّورَ بِمِيثَاقِهِمْ وَقُلْنَا لَهُمُ ادْخُلُوا الْبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ لَا تَعْدُوا فِي السَّبْتِ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُمْ مِيثَاقًا غَلِيظًا
And for their covenant, We raised over them the Mount and (on the other occasion) We said: "Enter the gate prostrating (or bowing) with humility;" and We commanded them: "Transgress not (by doing worldly works on) the Sabbath (Saturday)." And We took from them a firm covenant.(154)
