അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു: (അതിനെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള) അറിവ് അല്ലാഹുവിങ്കല് മാത്രമാകുന്നു. ഞാന് എന്തൊന്നുമായി നിയോഗിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നുവോ അതു ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് എത്തിച്ചുതരുന്നു. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങളെ ഞാന് കാണുന്നത് അവിവേകം കാണിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ജനതയായിട്ടാണ്.(23)
(23) قَالَ إِنَّمَا الْعِلْمُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَأُبَلِّغُكُمْ مَا أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ وَلَٰكِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُونَ
He said: "The knowledge (of the time of its coming) is with Allah only, and I convey to you that wherewith I have been sent, but I see that you are a people given to ignorance!"(23)
