വിശ്വസിച്ചവരെപ്പറ്റി ആ സത്യനിഷേധികള് പറഞ്ഞു: ഇതൊരു നല്ലകാര്യമായിരുന്നെങ്കില് ഞങ്ങളെക്കാള് മുമ്പ് ഇവര് അതില് എത്തിച്ചേരുകയില്ലായിരുന്നു. ഇതുമുഖേന അവര് സന്മാര്ഗം പ്രാപിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്തതു കൊണ്ട് അവര് പറഞ്ഞേക്കും; ഇതൊരു പഴക്കം ചെന്ന വ്യാജവാദമാണെന്ന്.(11)
(11) وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا مَا سَبَقُونَا إِلَيْهِ ۚ وَإِذْ لَمْ يَهْتَدُوا بِهِ فَسَيَقُولُونَ هَٰذَا إِفْكٌ قَدِيمٌ
And those who disbelieve (strong and wealthy) say of those who believe (weak and poor): "Had it (Islamic Monotheism to which Muhammad SAW is inviting mankind) been a good thing, they (weak and poor) would not have preceded us thereto!" And when they have not let themselves be guided by it (this Quran), they say: "This is an ancient lie!"(11)
