ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു രാജ്യം നാം നശിപ്പിക്കാന് ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചാല് അവിടത്തെ സുഖലോലുപന്മാര്ക്ക് നാം ആജ്ഞകള് നല്കും. എന്നാല് (അത് വകവെക്കാതെ) അവര് അവിടെ താന്തോന്നിത്തം നടത്തും. (ശിക്ഷയെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള) വാക്ക് അങ്ങനെ അതിന്റെ (രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ) കാര്യത്തില് സ്ഥിരപ്പെടുകയും, നാം അതിനെ നിശ്ശേഷം തകര്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതാണ്.(16)
(16) وَإِذَا أَرَدْنَا أَنْ نُهْلِكَ قَرْيَةً أَمَرْنَا مُتْرَفِيهَا فَفَسَقُوا فِيهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهَا الْقَوْلُ فَدَمَّرْنَاهَا تَدْمِيرًا
And when We decide to destroy a town (population), We (first) send a definite order (to obey Allah and be righteous) to those among them [or We (first) increase in number those of its population] who are given the good things of this life. Then, they transgress therein, and thus the word (of torment) is justified against it (them). Then We destroy it with complete destruction.(16)
