അപ്പോള് അവര് പറഞ്ഞു: ഞങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവേ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ യാത്രാതാവളങ്ങള്ക്കിടയില് നീ അകലമുണ്ടാക്കണമേ. അങ്ങനെ തങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നെ അവര് ദ്രോഹം വരുത്തി വെച്ചു. അപ്പോള് നാം അവരെ കഥാവശേഷരാക്കികളഞ്ഞു. അവരെ നാം സര്വ്വത്ര ഛിന്നഭിന്നമാക്കി ക്ഷമാശീലനും നന്ദിയുള്ളവനുമായ ഏതൊരാള്ക്കും തീര്ച്ചയായും അതില് ദൃഷ്ടാന്തങ്ങളുണ്ട്.(19)
(19) فَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا بَاعِدْ بَيْنَ أَسْفَارِنَا وَظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ وَمَزَّقْنَاهُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ
But they said: "Our Lord! Make the stages between our journey longer," and they wronged themselves, so We made them as tales (in the land), and We dispersed them all, totally. Verily, in this are indeed signs for every steadfast grateful (person).(19)
