മദ്യനിലെ ജലാശയത്തിങ്കല് അദ്ദേഹം ചെന്നെത്തിയപ്പോള് ആടുകള്ക്ക് വെള്ളം കൊടുത്ത് കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കൂട്ടം ആളുകളെ അതിന്നടുത്ത് അദ്ദേഹം കണ്ടെത്തി. അവരുടെ ഇപ്പുറത്തായി (തങ്ങളുടെ ആട്ടിന് പറ്റത്തെ) തടഞ്ഞു നിര്ത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന രണ്ട് സ്ത്രീകളെയും അദ്ദേഹം കണ്ടു. അദ്ദേഹം ചോദിച്ചു: എന്താണ് നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രശ്നം? അവര് പറഞ്ഞു: ഇടയന്മാര് (ആടുകള്ക്ക് വെള്ളം കൊടുത്ത്) തിരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടു പോകുന്നത് വരെ ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് വെള്ളം കൊടുക്കാനാവില്ല. ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവാകട്ടെ വലിയൊരു വൃദ്ധനുമാണ്.(23)
(23) وَلَمَّا وَرَدَ مَاءَ مَدْيَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ أُمَّةً مِنَ النَّاسِ يَسْقُونَ وَوَجَدَ مِنْ دُونِهِمُ امْرَأَتَيْنِ تَذُودَانِ ۖ قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُمَا ۖ قَالَتَا لَا نَسْقِي حَتَّىٰ يُصْدِرَ الرِّعَاءُ ۖ وَأَبُونَا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ
And when he arrived at the water of Madyan (Midian) he found there a group of men watering (their flocks), and besides them he found two women who were keeping back (their flocks). He said: "What is the matter with you?" They said: "We cannot water (our flocks) until the shepherds take (their flocks). And our father is a very old man."(23)
