മനുഷ്യര് ഒരൊറ്റ സമൂഹം മാത്രമായിരുന്നു. എന്നിട്ടവര് ഭിന്നിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്. നിന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവിങ്കല് നിന്ന് ഒരു വചനം മുന്കൂട്ടി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് അവര് ഭിന്നിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന വിഷയത്തില് അവര്ക്കിടയില് (ഇതിനകം) തീര്പ്പുകല്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നേനെ.(19)
(19) وَمَا كَانَ النَّاسُ إِلَّا أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَاخْتَلَفُوا ۚ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِنْ رَبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ فِيمَا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ
Mankind were but one community (i.e. on one religion - Islamic Monotheism), then they differed (later), and had not it been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, it would have been settled between them regarding what they differed.(19)
