അങ്ങനെ അവര് ആ ഒട്ടകത്തെ അറുകൊലചെയ്യുകയും, തങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവിന്റെ കല്പനയെ ധിക്കരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അവര് പറഞ്ഞു: സ്വാലിഹേ, നീ ദൈവദൂതന്മാരില് പെട്ട ആളാണെങ്കില് ഞങ്ങളോട് നീ ഭീഷണിപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത് (ശിക്ഷ) ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് നീ കൊണ്ടുവാ.(77)
(77) فَعَقَرُوا النَّاقَةَ وَعَتَوْا عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ وَقَالُوا يَا صَالِحُ ائْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
So they killed the she-camel and insolently defied the Commandment of their Lord, and said: "O Salih (Saleh)! Bring about your threats if you are indeed one of the Messengers (of Allah)."(77)
