അങ്ങനെ നാം അതിനെ (ആ ശിക്ഷയെ) അക്കാലത്തും പില്ക്കാലത്തുമുള്ളവര്ക്ക് ഒരു ഗുണപാഠവും, സൂക്ഷ്മത പാലിക്കുന്നവര്ക്ക് ഒരു തത്വോപദേശവുമാക്കി.(66)
(66) فَجَعَلْنَاهَا نَكَالًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا وَمَا خَلْفَهَا وَمَوْعِظَةً لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
So We made this punishment an example to their own and to succeeding generations and a lesson to those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2).(66)
