അപ്പോള് തന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ മൃതദേഹം മറവു ചെയ്യേണ്ടത് എങ്ങനെയെന്ന് അവന്ന് കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുവാനായി നിലത്ത് മാന്തികുഴിയുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന ഒരു കാക്കയെ അല്ലാഹു അയച്ചു. അവന് പറഞ്ഞു: എന്തൊരു കഷ്ടം! എന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ മൃതദേഹം മറവുചെയ്യുന്ന കാര്യത്തില് ഈ കാക്കയെപ്പോലെ ആകാന് പോലും എനിക്ക് കഴിയാതെ പോയല്ലോ. അങ്ങനെ അവന് ഖേദക്കാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലായിത്തീര്ന്നു.(31)
(31) فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ غُرَابًا يَبْحَثُ فِي الْأَرْضِ لِيُرِيَهُ كَيْفَ يُوَارِي سَوْءَةَ أَخِيهِ ۚ قَالَ يَا وَيْلَتَا أَعَجَزْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِثْلَ هَٰذَا الْغُرَابِ فَأُوَارِيَ سَوْءَةَ أَخِي ۖ فَأَصْبَحَ مِنَ النَّادِمِينَ
Then Allah sent a crow who scratched the ground to show him to hide the dead body of his brother. He (the murderer) said: "Woe to me! Am I not even able to be as this crow and to hide the dead body of my brother?" Then he became one of those who regretted.(31)
