നിങ്ങള് സ്വന്തം ജീവന് ബലിയര്പ്പിക്കണമെന്നോ, വീട് വിട്ടിറങ്ങണമെന്നോ നാം അവര്ക്ക് കല്പന നല്കിയിരുന്നുവെങ്കില് അവരില് ചുരുക്കം പേരൊഴികെ അത് ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നില്ല. അവരോട് ഉപദേശിക്കപ്പെടും പ്രകാരം അവര് പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിരുന്നുവെങ്കില് അതവര്ക്ക് ഏറ്റവും ഉത്തമവും (സന്മാര്ഗത്തില്) അവരെ കൂടുതല് ശക്തമായി ഉറപ്പിക്കുന്നതും ആകുമായിരുന്നു.(66)
(66) وَلَوْ أَنَّا كَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنِ اقْتُلُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ أَوِ اخْرُجُوا مِنْ دِيَارِكُمْ مَا فَعَلُوهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ فَعَلُوا مَا يُوعَظُونَ بِهِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ تَثْبِيتًا
And if We had ordered them (saying), "Kill yourselves (i.e. the innnocent ones kill the guilty ones) or leave your homes," very few of them would have done it; but if they had done what they were told, it would have been better for them, and would have strengthened their (Faith);(66)
