എത്രയെത്ര രാജ്യക്കാര് അവരുടെ രക്ഷിതാവിന്റെയും അവന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരുടെയും കല്പന വിട്ട് ധിക്കാരം പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതിനാല് നാം അവരോട് കര്ക്കശമായ നിലയില് കണക്കു ചോദിക്കുകയും അവരെ നാം ഹീനമായ വിധത്തില് ശിക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.(8)
(8) وَكَأَيِّنْ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ عَتَتْ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهَا وَرُسُلِهِ فَحَاسَبْنَاهَا حِسَابًا شَدِيدًا وَعَذَّبْنَاهَا عَذَابًا نُكْرًا
And many a town (population) revolted against the Command of its Lord and His Messengers, and We called it to a severe account (i.e. torment in this worldly life), and shall punish it with a horrible torment (in Hell, in the Hereafter).(8)
