സത്യത്തെ നിഷേധിക്കുകയും, പവിത്രമായ ദേവാലയത്തില്‍ നിന്ന്‌ നിങ്ങളെ തടയുകയും, ബലിമൃഗങ്ങളെ അവയുടെ നിശ്ചിത സ്ഥാനത്തെത്താന്‍ അനുവദിക്കാത്ത നിലയില്‍ തടഞ്ഞുനിര്‍ത്തുകയും ചെയ്തവരാകുന്നു അവര്‍. നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്‌ അറിഞ്ഞ്‌ കൂടാത്ത സത്യവിശ്വാസികളായ ചില പുരുഷന്‍മാരെയും സത്യവിശ്വാസിനികളായ ചില സ്ത്രീകളെയും നിങ്ങള്‍ ചവിട്ടിത്തേക്കുകയും, എന്നിട്ട്‌ (നിങ്ങള്‍) അറിയാതെ തന്നെ അവര്‍ നിമിത്തം നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്‌ പാപം വന്നു ഭവിക്കാന്‍ ഇടയാവുകയും ചെയ്യില്ലായിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ (അല്ലാഹു നിങ്ങളെ ഇരുവിഭാഗത്തെയും യുദ്ധത്തില്‍ നിന്ന്‌ തടയുമായിരുന്നില്ല.) അല്ലാഹു തന്‍റെ കാരുണ്യത്തില്‍ താന്‍ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നവരെ ഉള്‍പെടുത്തേണ്ടതിനായിട്ടാകുന്നു അത്‌. അവര്‍ (മക്കയിലെ വിശ്വാസികളും സത്യനിഷേധികളും) വേറിട്ടായിരുന്നു താമസിച്ചിരുന്നതെങ്കില്‍ അവരിലെ സത്യനിഷേധികള്‍ക്ക്‌ വേദനയേറിയ ശിക്ഷ നാം നല്‍കുക തന്നെ ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു.(25)
(25) هُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوكُمْ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَالْهَدْيَ مَعْكُوفًا أَنْ يَبْلُغَ مَحِلَّهُ ۚ وَلَوْلَا رِجَالٌ مُؤْمِنُونَ وَنِسَاءٌ مُؤْمِنَاتٌ لَمْ تَعْلَمُوهُمْ أَنْ تَطَئُوهُمْ فَتُصِيبَكُمْ مِنْهُمْ مَعَرَّةٌ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۖ لِيُدْخِلَ اللَّهُ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۚ لَوْ تَزَيَّلُوا لَعَذَّبْنَا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا
They are the ones who disbelieved (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and hindered you from Al-Masjid-al-Haram (the sacred mosque of Makkah) and the sacrificial animals, detained from reaching their place of sacrifice. Had there not been believing men and believing women whom you did not know, that you may kill them, and on whose account a sin would have been committed by you without (your) knowledge, that Allah might bring into His Mercy whom He will, if they (the believers and the disbelievers) should have been apart, We verily had punished those of them who disbelieved, with painful torment.(25)
