ഗ്രാമീണ അറബികളില്‍ നിന്നും പിന്നോക്കം മാറി നിന്നവരോട്‌ നീ പറയുക: കനത്ത ആക്രമണശേഷിയുള്ള ഒരു ജനവിഭാഗത്തെ നേരിടാനായി നിങ്ങള്‍ വഴിയെ വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.അവര്‍ കീഴടങ്ങുന്നത്‌ വരെ നിങ്ങള്‍ അവരുമായി യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യേണ്ടിവരും. അപ്പോള്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ അനുസരിക്കുന്ന പക്ഷം അല്ലാഹു നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്‌ ഉത്തമമായ പ്രതിഫലം നല്‍കുന്നതാണ്‌. മുമ്പ്‌ നിങ്ങള്‍ പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞു കളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ (ഇനിയും) പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞു കളയുന്ന പക്ഷം വേദനയേറിയ ശിക്ഷ അവന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു നല്‍കുന്നതുമാണ്‌.(16)
(16) قُلْ لِلْمُخَلَّفِينَ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ سَتُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ أُولِي بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ تُقَاتِلُونَهُمْ أَوْ يُسْلِمُونَ ۖ فَإِنْ تُطِيعُوا يُؤْتِكُمُ اللَّهُ أَجْرًا حَسَنًا ۖ وَإِنْ تَتَوَلَّوْا كَمَا تَوَلَّيْتُمْ مِنْ قَبْلُ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا
Say (O Muhammad SAW) to the bedouins who lagged behind: "You shall be called to fight against a people given to great warfare, then you shall fight them, or they shall surrender. Then if you obey, Allah will give you a fair reward, but if you turn away as you did turn away before, He will punish you with a painful torment."(16)
