എന്നിട്ട് നമ്മുടെ ശിക്ഷ കണ്ടപ്പോള് അവര് പറഞ്ഞു: ഞങ്ങള് അല്ലാഹുവില് മാത്രം വിശ്വസിക്കുകയും അവനോട് ഞങ്ങള് പങ്കുചേര്ത്തിരുന്നതില് (ദൈവങ്ങളില്) ഞങ്ങള് അവിശ്വസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.(84)
(84) فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا بَأْسَنَا قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ وَكَفَرْنَا بِمَا كُنَّا بِهِ مُشْرِكِينَ
So when they saw Our punishment, they said: "We believe in Allah Alone and reject (all) that we used to associate with Him as (His) partners.(84)
