എന്നാല് അവര്ക്ക് മുമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്നവരുടെ പര്യവസാനം എങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു എന്ന് കാണാന് അവര് ഭൂമിയില് സഞ്ചരിച്ചു നോക്കിയിട്ടില്ലേ? അവര് ഇവരെക്കാള് എണ്ണം കൂടിയവരും, ശക്തികൊണ്ടും ഭൂമിയില് വിട്ടേച്ചുപോയ അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങള് കൊണ്ടും ഏറ്റവും പ്രബലന്മാരുമായിരുന്നു. എന്നിട്ടും അവര് നേടിയെടുത്തിരുന്നതൊന്നും അവര്ക്ക് പ്രയോജനപ്പെട്ടില്ല.(82)
(82) أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوا أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَآثَارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
Have they not travelled through the earth and seen what was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than them and mightier in strength, and in the traces (they have left behind them) in the land, yet all that they used to earn availed them not.(82)
