എത്രയെത്ര നാടുകള് അവിടത്തുകാര് അക്രമത്തില് ഏര്പെട്ടിരിക്കെ നാം നശിപ്പിച്ചു കളഞ്ഞു! അങ്ങനെ അവയതാ മേല്പുരകളോടെ വീണടിഞ്ഞ് കിടക്കുന്നു. ഉപയോഗശൂന്യമായിത്തീര്ന്ന എത്രയെത്ര കിണറുകള്! പടുത്തുയര്ത്തിയ എത്രയെത്ര കോട്ടകള്!(45)
(45) فَكَأَيِّنْ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ فَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَبِئْرٍ مُعَطَّلَةٍ وَقَصْرٍ مَشِيدٍ
And many a township have We destroyed while it was given to wrong-doing, so that it lies in ruins (up to this day), and (many) a deserted well and lofty castles!(45)
