അങ്ങനെ പ്രസവവേദന അവളെ ഒരു ഈന്തപ്പന മരത്തിന്റെ അടുത്തേക്ക് കൊണ്ട് വന്നു. അവള് പറഞ്ഞു: ഞാന് ഇതിന് മുമ്പ് തന്നെ മരിക്കുകയും, പാടെ വിസ്മരിച്ച് തള്ളപ്പെട്ടവളാകുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നെങ്കില് എത്ര നന്നായിരുന്നേനേ!(23)
(23) فَأَجَاءَهَا الْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَا لَيْتَنِي مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَٰذَا وَكُنْتُ نَسْيًا مَنْسِيًّا
And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a date-palm. She said: "Would that I had died before this, and had been forgotten and out of sight!"(23)
