(നബിയേ,) നിന്നോടവര്‍ ചന്ദ്രക്കലകളെപ്പറ്റി ചോദിക്കുന്നു. പറയുക: മനുഷ്യരുടെ ആവശ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ഹജ്ജ്‌ തീര്‍ത്ഥാടനത്തിനും കാല നിര്‍ണയത്തിനുള്ള ഉപാധികളാകുന്നു അവ. നിങ്ങള്‍ വീടുകളിലേക്ക്‌ പിന്‍വശങ്ങളിലൂടെ ചെല്ലുന്നതിലല്ല പുണ്യം കുടികൊള്ളുന്നത്‌. പ്രത്യുത, ദോഷബാധയെ കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിച്ചവനത്രെ പുണ്യവാന്‍. നിങ്ങള്‍ വീടുകളില്‍ അവയുടെ വാതിലുകളിലൂടെ പ്രവേശിക്കുക. മോക്ഷം കൈവരിക്കുവാന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ അല്ലാഹുവെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.(189)
(189) ۞ يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْأَهِلَّةِ ۖ قُلْ هِيَ مَوَاقِيتُ لِلنَّاسِ وَالْحَجِّ ۗ وَلَيْسَ الْبِرُّ بِأَنْ تَأْتُوا الْبُيُوتَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّ الْبِرَّ مَنِ اتَّقَىٰ ۗ وَأْتُوا الْبُيُوتَ مِنْ أَبْوَابِهَا ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
They ask you (O Muhammad SAW) about the new moons. Say: These are signs to mark fixed periods of time for mankind and for the pilgrimage. It is not Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, etc.) that you enter the houses from the back but Al-Birr (is the quality of the one) who fears Allah. So enter houses through their proper doors, and fear Allah that you may be successful.(189)
