ഫിര്ഔന്റെ ജനതയിലെ പ്രമാണിമാര് പറഞ്ഞു: ഭൂമിയില് കുഴപ്പമുണ്ടാക്കുവാനും, താങ്കളേയും താങ്കളുടെ ദൈവങ്ങളേയും വിട്ടുകളയുവാനും താങ്കള് മൂസായെയും അവന്റെ ആള്ക്കാരെയും (അനുവദിച്ച്) വിടുകയാണോ? അവന് (ഫിര്ഔന്) പറഞ്ഞു: നാം അവരുടെ (ഇസ്രായീല്യരുടെ) ആണ്മക്കളെ കൊന്നൊടുക്കുകയും, അവരുടെ സ്ത്രീകളെ ജീവിക്കാന് വിടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതാണ്. തീര്ച്ചയായും നാം അവരുടെ മേല് സര്വ്വാധിപത്യമുള്ളവരായിരിക്കും.(127)
(127) وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَىٰ وَقَوْمَهُ لِيُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَآلِهَتَكَ ۚ قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ وَنَسْتَحْيِي نِسَاءَهُمْ وَإِنَّا فَوْقَهُمْ قَاهِرُونَ
The chiefs of Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people said: "Will you leave Musa (Moses) and his people to spread mischief in the land, and to abandon you and your gods?" He said: "We will kill their sons, and let live their women, and we have indeed irresistible power over them."(127)
