അങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ ഇരുവരെയും വഞ്ചനയിലൂടെ അവന്‍ തരംതാഴ്ത്തിക്കളഞ്ഞു. അവര്‍ ഇരുവരും ആ വൃക്ഷത്തില്‍ നിന്ന്‌ രുചി നോക്കിയതോടെ അവര്‍ക്ക്‌ അവരുടെ ഗോപ്യസ്ഥാനങ്ങള്‍ വെളിപ്പെട്ടു. ആ തോട്ടത്തിലെ ഇലകള്‍ കൂട്ടിചേര്‍ത്ത്‌ അവര്‍ ഇരുവരും തങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരം പൊതിയാന്‍ തുടങ്ങി. അവര്‍ ഇരുവരെയും വിളിച്ച്‌ അവരുടെ രക്ഷിതാവ്‌ പറഞ്ഞു: ആ വൃക്ഷത്തില്‍ നിന്ന്‌ നിങ്ങളെ ഞാന്‍ വിലക്കിയിട്ടില്ലേ? തീര്‍ച്ചയായും പിശാച്‌ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രത്യക്ഷശത്രുവാണെന്ന്‌ ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോട്‌ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുമില്ലേ?(22)
(22) فَدَلَّاهُمَا بِغُرُورٍ ۚ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا الشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْآتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِنْ وَرَقِ الْجَنَّةِ ۖ وَنَادَاهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمَا عَنْ تِلْكُمَا الشَّجَرَةِ وَأَقُلْ لَكُمَا إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّ مُبِينٌ
So he misled them with deception. Then when they tasted of the tree, that which was hidden from them of their shame (private parts) became manifest to them and they began to stick together the leaves of Paradise over themselves (in order to cover their shame). And their Lord called out to them (saying): "Did I not forbid you that tree and tell you: Verily, Shaitan (Satan) is an open enemy unto you?"(22)
