മര്യമിന്റെ മകന് ഈസാ പറഞ്ഞു: ഞങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ അല്ലാഹുവേ, ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് നീ ആകാശത്ത് നിന്ന് ഒരു ഭക്ഷണത്തളിക ഇറക്കിത്തരേണമേ. ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക്, ഞങ്ങളിലെ ആദ്യത്തിലുള്ളവന്നും, അവസാനത്തിലുള്ളവന്നും ഒരു പെരുന്നാളും, നിന്റെ പക്കല് നിന്നുള്ള ഒരു ദൃഷ്ടാന്തവുമായിരിക്കണം അത്. ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് നീ ഉപജീവനം നല്കുകയും ചെയ്യേണമേ. നീ ഉപജീവനം നല്കുന്നവരില് ഏറ്റവും ഉത്തമനാണല്ലോ.(114)
(114) قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا أَنْزِلْ عَلَيْنَا مَائِدَةً مِنَ السَّمَاءِ تَكُونُ لَنَا عِيدًا لِأَوَّلِنَا وَآخِرِنَا وَآيَةً مِنْكَ ۖ وَارْزُقْنَا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ
'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: "O Allah, our Lord! Send us from heaven a table spread (with food) that there may be for us - for the first and the last of us - a festival and a sign from You; and provide us sustenance, for You are the Best of sustainers."(114)
