മുമ്പ് തന്നെ ഹാറൂന് അവരോട് പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നു: എന്റെ ജനങ്ങളേ, ഇത് (കാളക്കുട്ടി) മൂലം നിങ്ങള് പരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുക മാത്രമാണുണ്ടായത്. തീര്ച്ചയായും നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവ് പരമകാരുണികനത്രെ. അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങളെന്നെ പിന്തുടരുകയും,എന്റെ കല്പനകള് നിങ്ങള് അനുസരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.(90)
(90) وَلَقَدْ قَالَ لَهُمْ هَارُونُ مِنْ قَبْلُ يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّمَا فُتِنْتُمْ بِهِ ۖ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ فَاتَّبِعُونِي وَأَطِيعُوا أَمْرِي
And Harun (Aaron) indeed had said to them beforehand: "O my people! You are being tried in this, and verily, your Lord is (Allah) the Most Beneficent, so follow me and obey my order."(90)
