നീ പറയുക: അല്ലാഹുവിന്‌ പുറമെ നിങ്ങള്‍ വിളിച്ചു പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ പങ്കാളികളെ പറ്റി നിങ്ങള്‍ ചിന്തിച്ചു നോക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ടോ? ഭൂമിയില്‍ എന്തൊന്നാണവര്‍ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതെന്ന്‌ നിങ്ങള്‍ എനിക്ക്‌ കാണിച്ചുതരിക. അതല്ല, ആകാശങ്ങളില്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക്‌ വല്ല പങ്കുമുണ്ടോ? അതല്ല, നാം അവര്‍ക്ക്‌ വല്ല ഗ്രന്ഥവും നല്‍കിയിട്ട്‌ അതില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള തെളിവനുസരിച്ചാണോ അവര്‍ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നത്‌? അല്ല അക്രമകാരികള്‍ അന്യോന്യം വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നത്‌ വഞ്ചന മാത്രമാകുന്നു.(40)
(40) قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ شُرَكَاءَكُمُ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ أَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقُوا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ أَمْ لَهُمْ شِرْكٌ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ أَمْ آتَيْنَاهُمْ كِتَابًا فَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَتٍ مِنْهُ ۚ بَلْ إِنْ يَعِدُ الظَّالِمُونَ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا إِلَّا غُرُورًا
Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Tell me or inform me (what) do you think about your (socalled) partnergods to whom you call upon besides Allah, show me, what they have created of the earth? Or have they any share in the heavens? Or have We given them a Book, so that they act on clear proof therefrom? Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.) promise one another nothing but delusions."(40)
