ഒരു സ്വര്‍ണക്കൂമ്പാരം തന്നെ വിശ്വസിച്ചേല്‍പിച്ചാലും അത്‌ നിനക്ക്‌ തിരിച്ചുനല്‍കുന്ന ചിലര്‍ വേദക്കാരിലുണ്ട്‌. അവരില്‍ തന്നെ മറ്റൊരു തരക്കാരുമുണ്ട്‌. അവരെ ഒരു ദീനാര്‍ നീ വിശ്വസിച്ചേല്‍പിച്ചാല്‍ പോലും നിരന്തരം (ചോദിച്ചു കൊണ്ട്‌) നിന്നെങ്കിലല്ലാതെ അവരത്‌ നിനക്ക്‌ തിരിച്ചുതരികയില്ല. അക്ഷരജ്ഞാനമില്ലാത്ത ആളുകളുടെ കാര്യത്തില്‍ (അവരെ വഞ്ചിക്കുന്നതില്‍) ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്‌ കുറ്റമുണ്ടാകാന്‍ വഴിയില്ലെന്ന്‌ അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞതിനാലത്രെ അത്‌. അവര്‍ അല്ലാഹുവിന്‍റെ പേരില്‍ അറിഞ്ഞ്‌ കൊണ്ട്‌ കള്ളം പറയുകയാകുന്നു.(75)
(75) ۞ وَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مَنْ إِنْ تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنْطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ إِنْ تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لَا يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَائِمًا ۗ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِي الْأُمِّيِّينَ سَبِيلٌ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
Among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is he who, if entrusted with a Cantar (a great amount of wealth, etc.), will readily pay it back; and among them there is he who, if entrusted with a single silver coin, will not repay it unless you constantly stand demanding, because they say: "There is no blame on us to betray and take the properties of the illiterates (Arabs)." But they tell a lie against Allah while they know it.(75)
