അവന് പറഞ്ഞു: എന്നെക്കാള് നീ ആദരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ഇവനാരെന്ന് നീ എനിക്ക് പറഞ്ഞുതരൂ. തീര്ച്ചയായും ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിന്റെ നാളുവരെ നീ എനിക്ക് അവധി നീട്ടിത്തരുന്ന പക്ഷം, ഇവന്റെ സന്തതികളില് ചുരുക്കം പേരൊഴിച്ച് എല്ലാവരെയും ഞാന് കീഴ്പെടുത്തുക തന്നെ ചെയ്യും.(62)
(62) قَالَ أَرَأَيْتَكَ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كَرَّمْتَ عَلَيَّ لَئِنْ أَخَّرْتَنِ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَأَحْتَنِكَنَّ ذُرِّيَّتَهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا
[Iblis (Satan)] said: "See? This one whom You have honoured above me, if You give me respite (keep me alive) to the Day of Resurrection, I will surely seize and mislead his offspring (by sending them astray) all but a few!"(62)
