അവര് പറഞ്ഞു: താങ്കള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുത്ത് (ദൂതനായി) വരുന്നതിന്റെ മുമ്പും, താങ്കള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുത്ത് വന്നതിന് ശേഷവും ഞങ്ങള് മര്ദ്ദിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. അദ്ദേഹം (മൂസാ) പറഞ്ഞു: നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവ് നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുവിനെ നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും, ഭൂമിയില് നിങ്ങളെ അവന് അനന്തരാവകാശികളാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തേക്കാം. എന്നിട്ട് നിങ്ങള് എങ്ങനെ പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നുവെന്ന് അവന് നോക്കുന്നതാണ്.(129)
(129) قَالُوا أُوذِينَا مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا ۚ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَنْ يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ
They said: "We (Children of Israel) had suffered troubles before you came to us, and since you have come to us." He said: "It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors on the earth, so that He may see how you act?"(129)
