അവരുടെ പക്കലുള്ള വേദത്തെ ശരിവെച്ചു കൊണ്ട് അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ ഒരു ദൂതന് അവരുടെ അടുത്ത് ചെന്നപ്പോള് ആ വേദക്കാരില് ഒരു വിഭാഗം അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ ഗ്രന്ഥത്തെ യാതൊരു പരിചയവുമില്ലാത്തവരെ പോലെ പുറകോട്ട് വലിച്ചെറിയുകയാണ് ചെയ്തത്.(101)
(101) وَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِمَا مَعَهُمْ نَبَذَ فَرِيقٌ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَرَاءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
And when there came to them a Messenger from Allah (i.e. Muhammad Peace be upon him) confirming what was with them, a party of those who were given the Scripture threw away the Book of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know!(101)
