ഥമൂദ്‌ സമുദായത്തിലേക്ക്‌ അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്‍ സ്വാലിഹിനെയും (നാം അയച്ചു.) അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു: എന്‍റെ ജനങ്ങളേ, നിങ്ങള്‍ അല്ലാഹുവിനെ ആരാധിക്കുവിന്‍. അവനല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ഒരു ദൈവവുമില്ല. നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവിങ്കല്‍ നിന്നു വ്യക്തമായ ഒരു തെളിവ്‌ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു വന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്‌. നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കൊരു ദൃഷ്ടാന്തമായിട്ട്‌ അല്ലാഹുവിന്‍റെ ഒട്ടകമാണിത്‌. ആകയാല്‍ അല്ലാഹുവിന്‍റെ ഭൂമിയില്‍ (നടന്നു) തിന്നുവാന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ അതിനെ വിട്ടേക്കുക. നിങ്ങളതിന്‌ ഒരു ഉപദ്രവവും ചെയ്യരുത്‌. എങ്കില്‍ വേദനയേറിയ ശിക്ഷ നിങ്ങളെ പിടികൂടും.(73)
(73) وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَالِحًا ۗ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ قَدْ جَاءَتْكُمْ بَيِّنَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ ۖ هَٰذِهِ نَاقَةُ اللَّهِ لَكُمْ آيَةً ۖ فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ فِي أَرْضِ اللَّهِ ۖ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
And to Thamud (people, We sent) their brother Salih (Saleh). He said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Indeed there has come to you a clear sign (the miracle of the coming out of a huge she-camel from the midst of a rock) from your Lord. This she-camel of Allah is a sign unto you; so you leave her to graze in Allah's earth, and touch her not with harm, lest a painful torment should seize you.(73)
